Porcelain bowl, wood-fired in a traditional anagama kiln for five days.
During the firing, wood ash settled naturally on the surface and melted into a natural ash glaze. Flame and ash moved through the kiln over several days, creating variations in color, texture, and surface markings unique to this piece.
The porcelain body is mixed with coarse black chamotte. During firing, parts of the chamotte partially melted and interacted with ash and flame, forming metallic-like speckled inclusions across the surface.
Each anagama firing leaves its own trace on the clay, and this bowl carries a distinct record of that atmosphere. This piece is one of a kind.
Dimensions: Ø16.5 × H8 cm
